Engine
A responsive 153-horsepower, 2.3-liter, DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine with VVT is standard on the 2009 MAZDA5. A five-speed Sport automatic transmission with manual-shift mode is standard on Touring and Grand Touring trim levels and optional on the Sport trim. A five-speed manual transmission is optional only on the Sport trim.
